January 13 It's our 7th Anniversary featuring RAY MARTIN. We always do something different for the club anniversary and can't think of anyone better to cheer us up on what can be a miserable time of year, than Ray Martin. If you caught him on Sunday afternoon at the Boar's Bridge Festival last year, you will know how his clever lyrics can have an audience rolling in their seats, tears streaming from their eyes. Ray is a prolific song writer and versatile performer, comedy and straight, with experience on TV and at festivals, both in this country and other parts of the world. We can promise you an evening to raise the spirits and make you forget about winter - if only for a little while! February 10 PHIL & CHRIS's CD launch Two of our regular and ever popular performers, Phil and Chris Pittman, are bringing out their first CD, A POCKETFUL OF WORDS. We are delighted that they want to launch it at Poppy’s. Phil is a fine song writer and I’m sure they will include many of Phil’s songs as he and Chris finish off the evening. March 9 GEOFF FOX Geoff is a fine guitarist, one of the many talented people who perform regularly at the Windmill Club. His musical influences are eclectic, from folk to blues and jazz - and most styles between! From the response to his floor spot when he played at Poppy’s in June we knew you would love to hear more of his music. April 13 Singers' Evening It’s been some months since we’ve had a ‘normal’ singers evening. Now we have several in a row! So, all you local performers be prepared, it’s your turn to provide the entertainment! May 11 Singers' Evening June 8 Singers' Evening Advance warning for June 15-17 The BOAR'S BRIDGE FESTIVAL Starting on the Friday night with Bram 'n' Eggs (Bram Taylor)! More details later. July 13 August We're closed To allow you to go to some of those folk festivals that abound at this time of year! September 14 Felix and Kathy’s special evening N.B. an 8.00 start tonight This year is a special anniversary. We wanted to have our celebratory event with people who share our musical tastes. A number of people are being invited to perform that evening and we plan to finish with a Big Session in which all musicians can participate. October 12 Inside Out We are delighted to welcome back the ever popular Chris and Martin Cook, previously local performers, but now living in E Anglia. Both are excellent guitarists and their material includes both covers and self written songs. November 9 Stuart Tester and friends When Stuart sings he can have you laughing one moment and almost in tears the next. A great guitarist himself, he will no doubt be joined tonight by a number of equally talented local musicians. December 7 Christmas party Dig out something seasonal for the occasion and make it a festive evening. |
